UC Riverside is a Hispanic-serving institution (HIS) with very diverse student population and with many students being first in their families to attend college. UCR Interdisciplinary Center for Quantitative Modeling in Biology (ICQMB) organizes regular seminar series, colloquiums and conferences on variety of topics related to mathematical and computational biology which attract large number of graduate and undergraduate students.

UCR University wide Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP)
Mission of the EAOP is to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who could achieve a post-secondary education and/or who are prepared to matriculate to a four-year college or university. Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program (MSRIP) is intended to encourage outstanding students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their PhD by strengthening their academic and professional development. The California Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative Program
The California Mathematics and Science Teacher initiative program is a part of a comprehensive plan to improve mathematics and science education in the Inland Empire. As a result of the CMST program and its partnering efforts, public school students in the Inland Area have benefited from the mathematics and science knowledge provided by CMST Apprentices. Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology Graduate Student Association Outreach Program (EEOBGSA) at UCR provides K-12 mentoring with an emphasis on science fair mentoring and judging, teacher training, K-12 demonstrations and 'careers in science presentations,' undergraduate mentoring, career development and research training.
