She earned her Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, and subsequently, she was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Irvine. Her research focuses on developing computational and mathematical models to study biological systems, designing high-order numerical methods for simulating hydrodynamic flow in physics and engineering, and constructing data-driven models using medical and biological datasets. She is particularly interested in modeling multiscale biological systems and analyzing regulatory mechanisms to improve mathematical modeling and understanding of complex biological processes. Her current projects include modeling bacterial migration and interactions with fungal networks, cancer growth and treatment, hepatic microcirculation, and red blood cell deformation.
